I want to use something cool then TinyURL or Bit.ly when shortening a URL. I dont want to end up with something like tiny.url/123hxzc or http://bit.ly/wUih. That is so pointless -imo-. So anyway when browsing for more options, I came across to this great web app called Shorty. What differs this from the rest is not only the ability to customize the keyword (random generator is provided as well) but also the fact that you store URLS in your own server. This is important so that the URLs you posted will never go away (well unless if you choose to remove them of course). Also another great feature is the ability to see how often people click on it.
